Lea on the Kingdom Hearts Wiki
Axel on the Kingdom Hearts Wiki
CRAU history: After being unceremoniously hauled across time and space by the seat of his metaphorical pants, Lea ended up somewhere in the Tenscore Kingdoms, and was swiftly shipped off to Diatu Magicademy, like the rest of the 'Sundered'. While initially deeply resentful of being hauled away from his training to help prevent the end of his native world, he soon resigned himself to dealing with going 'back to school' for the duration until the people of that world could find a way to send them all home. Eventually though, as he made friends there- including Eleven, the hero of Dragon Quest XI- and more friends from his own world arrived, he began to settle in, enjoying having a semblance of a normal life again, with no crisis hanging over him and no one trying to kill them. And miracle of miracles, he even found a class that he both liked and was good at; Forging, using things like metal and stone to make magically infused items. He even started working out a few of the tangled emotional issues he and his friends had- though the keyword there is 'started'- before he, along with his friend Xion, were pulled from Diatu to the platform of the Voidtreker Express.
While on the Voidtreker Express, Lea traveled on the Void train to a variety of different worlds, usually on missions to help with some sort of crisis going on there. On those missions, he dealt with everything from sea monsters, mad gods, and an illusion creating chaos entity, to cute but bothersome wildlife and fetch quests. On board the train he was frequently found in the kitchens, enjoying cooking for his friends new and old, but also passed the time with other chores, training, playing games, or just hanging out with his friends.
Over the course of both Diatu and Voidtrekers, he met three different versions of his friend Roxas, which also introduce the concept of multiple versions of the same people to him. He met Kingdom Hearts III era Vexen and attempted to make amends with him, and also met a version of Xehanort from shortly after Birth By Sleep, which was... enlightening. He met and befriended quite a few others too, but one of the most enduring of these friendships was with Taiki, a shy kirin-in-human-form with massive self-worth issues.
Lea gained a few new abilities on his trek through the Void, which will be detailed below, and attempted to work on some of his own issues, with mixed results. Really he spent more time trying to help Xion with her much worse issues, but in the process managed to improve his a bit as well. Eventually, after a climactic adventure and battle, Lea said goodbye to his fellow Voidtrekers- save Xion- and left to begin his journey home. Which, unfortunately, ended up taking an unexpected detour...
Please list and explain the three worst (morally) things your character has ever done in canon:
1.Murdered a mostly helpless person via incineration while he begged for mercy- Vexen was already very weakened due to a fight with Sora, and Axel- having been charged to 'eliminate the traitor' by Marluxia, and needing to impress him in order to get in on his plans- killed the terrified Vexen in the most dramatic and brutal manner at his disposal despite Vexen's pleas for him to stop.
2.Manipulated a young and mentally fragile being into murdering an adversary for him- Axel manipulated Repliku, who at that point was both very young and very broken mentally, into killing a weakened Zexion for him so the latter couldn't interfere with his and Siax's plans.
3.Defeated and retrieved Xion for the Organization- On two occasions, Axel physically attacked Xion to return her to the Organization, convinced it was 'safer'. The first was a few quick and well-timed blows to knock her unconscious, but the second was a full-on battle which, judging by the results, was pretty brutal.
Please list and explain the three best (morally) things your character has ever done in canon.:
4.Sacrificed himself to save Sora and co in Betwixt and Between- Sora, attempting to get to The World That Never Was, was ambushed in the weird interworld space called Betwixt and Between. Axel- who'd been on the run from the Organization for some time after breaking away from them and was clearly exhausted- jumped in to help save Sora, and Roxas by extension. In the end, the sheer number of Dusks forced Axel to put nearly all his remaining energy into a single attack to eliminate them. The dying Axel then apologized to Sora for kidnapping Kairi before using the very last of his energy to open a portal for him to The World That Never Was so that Sora could rescue her.
5.Saved Sora from being 'Norted- Lea came blazing in in the nick of time to rescue Sora just as Master Xehanort attempted to turn an unconscious Sora into his final vessel, then aided the group in their escape.
6.Joined the Guardians of Light to oppose Master Xehanort and his new Organization- Lea went to great effort to learn to weild a Keyblade- despite Master Yen Sid's doubts- in order to become a Guardian of Light to help his friends and help to thwart Master Xehanort's machinations.
Please list and explain the three worst (morally) things your character has ever done in other games:
7.Nearly got into a fistfight his first day at Diatu- Lea lost his temper with a wordy mage named V due a combination of Lea's frustrations and their pompous attitude. Their argument would have turned physical had a Diatu staff member not intervened.
8.Vented his frustrations at Xion, despite knowing it was hurting her emotionally- After many months of bottling up his feelings and hiding his frustrations for Xion's benefit, a huge argument resulted in which he vented it all at her and refused to let her flee the argument despite knowing how painful it was for her.
9.Nearly attacked BBS-era Xehanort on the train platform- Upon first seeing the Birth By Sleep era Xehanort on the train platform for the first time, Lea and several others pulled weapons/spells on him, believing him to be a threat, though they soon discovered that this verion of him was largely innocent.
Please list and explain the three best (morally) things your character has ever done in in other games.:
10.Assisted in the rescue of the population of an entire world- The planet Osiga- home to their NPC friend Anan- was due to be destroyed in five hours. The Voidtrekers- including Lea-participated in the frantic race against time to evacuate the world's population. The rescue effort was largely successful, though the loss of those they couldn't save still hit him hard.
11.Helped various people when he was turned back into a teenager for a day-Having been changed back to his 13-year-old self due to magical shenanigans, Lea helped various people around the train, most of them other people who'd been turned back into kids too. Little Lea retrieved an inhaler to help young Peter Parker through an asthma attack, patiently showed a factory-reset Xion how to play a video game, fed a hungry bitty Najaran and did his best to make her feel special, and toned down his boisterous personality a bit and played board games with the shy child Taiki. He wanted to make sure everyone would be able to have fun and be included.
12.Helped rescue the Voidtreker Express's original crew and undo a time paradox-At great risk to himself and with great difficulty due to the hazards of the Void, Lea and a number of others traveled back in time to retrieve the Voidtreker's original crew before they could inadvertently trigger a time paradox that would result in their world being wiped from existence and nearly all memory of them erased. The attempt was successful and the time paradox was repaired, and- after a massive battle with an enormous Void monster- those who remained from that world were restored as well.
Please put the twelve things above on a timeline relevant to each other: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-11-9-8-10-12
Do you consider your character a hero, an anti-hero, a good aligned side kick, a bystander, a victim, a fence sitter, a mercenary, an evil aligned side kick, a villain, or something else? Why?: A hero. It was a long process of character development and regaining his heart, but Lea's true caring and protective nature is fully restored. He's done his best to make up for his wrongdoings- especially with Vexen-, has put his life on the line numerous times to help and protect others, and helped and nurtured his friends in less dramatic ways too.
Do you think your character should start on the Isle or in Auradon? Why?: Auradon. It's was a long and rock road to get there initially, but Lea is very firmly a good guy now, and is like 95% sunshine and toasted marshmallow (metaphorically speaking).
Which of those two would you prefer your character to start in?: Auradon.
Are you still interested in having this character in this game at this time if that preference is not met?: Yes.
Powers and Abilities: Lea is skilled with Kingdom Hearts style fire magic, can passably do some of the type of magic he learned at Diatu, and is immune to direct damage by fire, magical or otherwise. He can also summon and dismiss his Keyblade- Flame Liberator- and his chakrams - the Eternal Flames- at will. He's a skilled fighter with both types of weapons and fire magic, though he has more experience with his chakrams. Keyblades have a number of abilities- which you can check out right here- but their signature ability is to be able to lock or unlock basically anything. And Lea's chakrams seem to be controlled at least partly by his will rather than just by his hands, given the physics defying tricks he's been able to pull off using them.
Over the course of his time on the Voidtreker Express, Lea further expanded his skillset. He improved his magical versatility, learning basic Aero, Blizzard, and Cure spells from Vexen, though Fire magic far and away remains his specialty. Vexen also taught him the rudiments of how to magically sense hearts and their natures, though he'll need more practice to be able to do so accurately, and will likely never reach Vexen's skill level.
His stint stuck in the Chaos entity's illusion world also left him with two new abilities. The first is being able to manipulate metal with his mind and will. This is nowhere near Magneto levels, and is limited by the properties of whatever metal he's manipulating, such as whether it breaks or bends, is hard or soft, heavy or light, etc. It's not especially useful in combat and he mostly uses it to enhance his Forging abilities. The second was the accidental discovery of how to create portals from one location to another- similar to Dark Corridors, but using Light- using the Keyblade. Both this and his Dark Corridors will be limited in game for obvious reasons.
In terms of non-combat skills, Lea's a pretty good cook when it comes to most things besides baking, and thanks to his time at Diatu, has gotten pretty good at Forging; that is, using traditional metalworking and similar techniques combined with magic to create magically imbued objects. Lea tends to focus on creating things like magically imbued jewelry and protective accessories, though he could expand to larger things- like weapons or armor- given the time, equipment, and materials. His forging skills could likely be applied to non-magical items as well, with a bit of practice, but again would require time, equipment, and materials to work with.
What clothing/items did your character arrive with? (See rules and FAQ for what is allowed, feel free to ask if you are unsure): He'll arrive wearing the random outfit he got from the train's shop, with a couple spare sets of clothes in his hammerspace pockets, including his Organization uniform. Also in hammerspace pockets are his gummi phone, several notebooks full of sketches, doodles, and forging notes, the WINNER ice cream stick given to him by Roxas, his pet rat's cage, and the Wayfinder he made together with Roxas, Xion, and Taiki. He can also summon both his Keyblade and his chakrams, though some of their abilities may be limited in game. And if possible, riding in his normal, non-hammerspace hoodie pocket is his rat pet/familiar, Smoke.
Optional- What do you have to keep in mind when playing this character?: Lea spent his formative years as a Nobody, and like the rest of the first Organization was fooled into believing that he had no heart. Thus, the years most people spend figuring themselves out, Lea remained largely emotionally stunted. As a result, he really has no clue about how to function as a responsible adult, hard as he may try to fake it. In particular, he's almost totally clueless about romance and is unlikely to recognize flirting or other romantic advances without help and will be extremely flustered if they're pointed out to him. Basically, think a dorky teenager in a man's body.
What mod candy, if any, does your character bring? (Aka what elements would you really like to see us play with?): Throwing multiple wrenches into the Decendants world's ideas about the absoluteness of good and bad via Kingdom Hearts weirdness. Also having him deal with random musical numbers and potentially being part of some himself.
What else do you think the mods should know about your character or their canon?: full disclosure? The only other current mod has been along for this whole ride, so they know about as much as I do.
Any questions?: Nope!
